Make a top ad in 10 seconds.

Welcome back to another edition of AdCollection, your weekly go-to newsletter that helps your ads convert more customers. This week, we’re putting a spotlight on drum rolls 🥁…"Billboards"!

But no, these are not your typical roadside giants. We are talking about billboard-inspired digital creatives that make heads turn with surprisingly low CPAs.

Honestly, these ads feel like cheating: they require nothing more than good copywriting and a good billboard mockup.

Let’s start with Genomelink’s standout ad made in-house at inBeat, which has been one of our biggest winners EVER! 🏆 The key to success?

It’s the Headline!

With just two words: “Find ancestry”, we instantly pique our audience’s interest. Just like how you can’t stop doing quizzes to find out what kind of cheese you are 🙈, our audience craves self-discovery, and this ad targets those who need more than just the basics from other DNA tests. The copy and the CTA are straightforward and effective and only take 3 seconds to digest. We have tested the same headline with different creative concepts, and ALL of them got smashing results.

Once we had landed the right strategy, we got creative and kept the ad fresh and engaging by playing with different designs, styles, and fonts to avoid any visual fatigue and also extend the campaign's success.

NielsenIQ

This ad from NielsenIQ might look simple, but its continuous success is mind-blowing🤯! Essentially, it blends the charm of old-school billboards with the modern familiarity of tweets.

We know the audience nowadays has a short attention span; this hybrid approach quickly brings out the core idea in 2 seconds. The copy targets the tech-savvy and cost-conscious crowd interested in getting extra rewards with their shopping. You can simply replicate this with different settings - a text or a WhatsApp message and continue to get results with fresh-looking visuals to reduce cost.

This ad was also produced by the team at inBeat Agency. If you’re looking to create performance creative ads, don’t hesitate to book a call!

Hopper

Last but not least, we have this ad from Hopper:

"Paying $100+ for hotel rooms is the reason y'all are broke."

Ouch, this copy hits the travel-loving folks right where it hurts!

Hopper's all about snagging some sweet hotel deals. This ad hits the nail by directly comparing Hopper's offer to others: "Why do I spend a fortune when I don't have to?"

That's it from our desk this week. We will return next week with more tips and great ads. In the meantime, let us know what you think here.
